Since moving from Liverpool to Chelsea in the summer, Dominic Solanke has struggled to break into the first team at Anfield. In fact, the 20-year-old has managed just seven substitute appearances for the Reds in the Premier League; just 85 minutes in total.
However, England manager Gareth Southagte has evidently seen enough of the young striker to hand him a debut for the national team, which came on Tuesday evening in a friendly against Brazil.
And Solanke had arguably the best chance of the game at Wembley, which ended in a goalless draw. However, the youngster failed to control a cross from Ashley Young and couldn’t get a shot away to break the deadlock.
Despite the lack of game time for his club side, Solanke, who is valued at £4.5million by Transfermarkt, is seemingly popular amongst Liverpool fans.
