According to The World Game, Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy is on the wanted list of Wolves as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
What’s the word?
The Australian has easily been one of the Terriers’ best players in recent years, starring in the Championship before competing at a consistent level throughout his spell in the Premier League.
Mooy spent a vast period of time out through injury in 2018/19 as his current side were relegated from the top-flight after two seasons.
A central midfielder, he scored three times in the league this term but failed to help his side beat the drop.
However, he could now be on the verge of returning to the Premier League, per The World Game. They claim the Australia international is on the wanted list of six clubs, including Wolves.
Also showing an interest are West Ham, Watford, Newcastle, Southampton and Leicester.
Perfect for Nuno
Rated at £12.6 million by Transfermarkt, Mooy is tailor-made for Wolves boss Nuno Santo.
Boasting similar traits to a majority of the midfielders the Midlands club already possess, he wouldn’t have any trouble fitting into their style of play and would represent shrewd business.
Huddersfield’s number ten has a superb set-piece in him, just like Ruben Neves, whilst his composure on the ball bears resemblance to Joao Moutinho.
He may not be at the same level as Wolves’ Portuguese stars, but in a season where depth will be crucial, he’d be an ideal signing.
Nuno’s midfield is a particular strength but considering the number of games Moutinho played throughout the campaign, he cannot be relied upon at the age of 32 to do the same again.
Boasting the ability to play further back in midfield, Mooy would be the perfect man to bring into the club.

He’s a calming influence in the middle of the park and the fact he scored twice in a 2-0 win for the Terriers at Molineux means their supporters should already be well aware of the quality he has at his disposal.
This is a deal that Wolves should be all over.
