Manchester City Twitter likely went into overdrive on Saturday when clips of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane taking a dubious tumble in the box against Leicester City reached the internet.
Mane hit the ground like a sack of spuds under pressure from veteran Marc Albrighton, who probably should’ve known better, with referee Chris Kavanagh keeling under the pressure of the home fans and pointing to the spot.
Bizarrely, VAR upheld Kavanagh’s original decision, which was questionable upon reflection, and James Milner tucked it away from the spot to extend Liverpool’s already mammoth lead at the top of the table to eight points.

Whilst social media accounts dedicated to Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Gabriel Jesus went into complete meltdown, so too did the travelling players, who understandably vented their frustration at their late defeat in the most primitive of ways – a good old scuffle.
The international break is now upon us (sadly), and while the man who scored the Foxes late and ultimately academic equaliser, James Maddison, might’ve put club rivalries to one side, it hasn’t stopped him from asking Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson the million-dollar question…
“No.”
